How to do a Backbend (standing)

Hey!!
I know I'm sort of going back and forth with the level difference, but I am trying to do tutorials that are easier to understand until I can explain different ones!!

  • Steps (read, but do not perform steps until you have read the complete post):
  1. Stand up tall with your arms to your ears.
  2. Make sure that your feet are about shoulder's width apart. (about a far apart as your shoulders)
  3.  Gently start to lean backwards while bending.
  4.  Keep your arms locked so when you hit the ground you won't bonk your head.
  5. Once you've put your hands on the ground, straighten your legs in this position:

6. Now, try to recover. (stand back up.)

GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tips:
  • Make sure you have your bridge on the ground.
  • Start practicing by doing the procedure onto a mat, or a soft object that is high off the ground.
  • OR practice by doing the procedure, but instead of going down, go back against a wall, and walk do the wall with your hands.
  • Make sure you stretch your back and your wrists before attempting this.
  • Practice this LOTS, it won't come easy (p.s. I'm almost 13 and I just got it like 3 months ago! Don't sweat it!)

A figure to help (yes, I made that figure, go ahead and laugh!! haha :P):

Thanks for reading and I hope it helps!
